Chip Your Tree for Charity: Give Back to Shuswap Trails This January!
The presents have been unwrapped, the turkey leftovers are finally gone, and the festive season is winding down. Now, you’re left with the final task of the holidays: dealing with the Christmas tree.
As the needles start to drop, don't drag that tree to the curb or send it to the landfill. Give your tree a second life and support our local community at the same time!
At Trees & Co Arborist Services, we are thrilled to announce our upcoming Charity Christmas Tree Chipping Event in Blind Bay. We’re turning your old tannenbaums into mulch and money for the trails we all love to explore.
Why "Chip In"?
This isn't just about tidying up your yard; it’s about coming together for the Shuswap community.
We have partnered with the wonderful folks at the Cedar Heights Community Association to host this event, and we have pledged that 100% of the donations collected will go directly to the Shuswap Trail Alliance.
If you live in the Shuswap, you know how vital the Trail Alliance is. They work tirelessly to develop, maintain, and promote the incredible network of trails in our region. By bringing us your tree, you are directly funding better hiking, biking, skiing, and walking paths for everyone to enjoy year-round.
Furthermore, chipping your tree is the eco-friendly choice. Instead of taking up space in a landfill, your tree will be turned into useful wood chips, returning nutrients to the earth.
Event Details: Mark Your Calendar!
We want to make this as easy as possible for you. Just load up your tree, drive over to Cedar Heights, and our team will handle the rest. We’ll have our professional chipper on-site ready to make quick work of your tree.
Here is everything you need to know:
📅 Date: Wednesday, January 10th
⏰ Time: 10:00 AM – 3:00 PM
📍 Location: The parking lot of the Cedar Heights Social Centre (2316 Lakeview Dr, Sorrento)
💵 Cost: By donation (Cash is preferred, with every penny going to the Trail Alliance).
Please ensure all decorations, tinsel, lights, and stands are removed from your tree before dropping it off.
Let’s kick off the year right!
This is a fantastic opportunity to support local recreation and get your post-holiday cleanup done in one easy stop. We are proud to donate our time and equipment to support the Shuswap Trail Alliance, and we hope to see many of our neighbours there.
Tell your friends, tag your neighbours, and let’s make a mountain of mulch for a good cause!
See you on January 10th!
